  • 535 5.7.139 Authentication unsuccessful, basic authentication is disabled

Your scanner needs to email a document. Microsoft 365 refuses the login. What is behind it

  • 530 5.7.57 Client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail

Your ERP or accounting software has stopped sending invoices. Basic auth has been switched off.

  • X-Spam-Flag: YES · delivered to: Junk Email

Your quotes end up in the customer's spam folder. Or never arrive at all.

  • 554 5.7.1 Service unavailable; client host blocked using blacklist

Your server IP is on a blacklist. Delisting takes days, and then you are back on it. What helps against blacklists

  • 421 4.7.0 Too many connections, try again later

Your newsletter needs to go out. Your own mail server gets blocked right away.

Every undelivered email can be a lost deal. It does not have to stay that way.

Basics in two paragraphs

What an SMTP relay does, and when you need one

An SMTP relay is a mail server that accepts your email and passes it on. Your application logs in with a username and password and hands over the message. The relay server takes care of everything after that: encryption, DKIM signing, queuing, retries and its reputation with the receiving servers.

A relay pays off in three situations. First, when your provider blocks sending: Microsoft 365 has switched off basic authentication, and many hosting providers block port 25 and cap the volume. Second, when your own IP address has a poor reputation because it rarely sends, sits in a data center range or has landed on a blacklist. Third, when volume or frequency grows: invoices, order confirmations, password emails and newsletters need SPF, DKIM and DMARC, a clean sender domain and someone who notices delivery problems before the customer calls.

That is exactly what MailBridge is: email delivery for your devices and applications, operated in Germany, with people you can actually reach. How SPF, DKIM and DMARC work together and what the portal checks is explained in our guide to SPF, DKIM and DMARC.

Your own SMTP relay in three steps

  1. Choose your volume

From Bridge 500 to Bridge 50K: the only thing you choose is how much you send. Everything else is included in every plan. Cancel monthly.

  2. Set up your credentials

You get your SMTP credentials. We help you with the DNS configuration, step by step in the illustrated guide.

  3. Send

Your devices and applications now send reliably. Done.

Entering the SMTP settings usually takes less than 15 minutes. DNS changes can take longer to become visible everywhere, depending on your provider. If you have questions, you reach a real person.

Why MailBridge

Six reasons, no buzzwords

  • Delivery you can count on

Monitored sending infrastructure, correct authentication, continuous blocklist monitoring. These are the technical foundations of reliable delivery. When something goes wrong, you see it in the portal instead of guessing.

  • Simple, no learning curve

No API, no developer skills needed. Enter the SMTP credentials and you are done. Works with any device and any software.

  • Germany and the GDPR

Servers located in Germany. Your data stays in the EU, with no transfers to third countries. GDPR-compliant without fine print.

  • Personal support

No chatbot, no ticket maze. You talk to people who know your setup, in English or German.

  • Transparent pricing

Fixed monthly prices, one plan model, no hidden costs. Extra volume costs €2.90 per 1,000 emails, and an automatic cost cap keeps your bill from exploding.

  • For everything that cannot do OAuth

Scanners, printers, ERP, CRM, monitoring, legacy software. MailBridge is the bridge.
